October 12 saw the start of the Warriors season with both the Mites and Bantam Black team playing games out of Mennen Arena in Morristown. All Warriors teams play in the MCYHL out of Mennen Arena.
Our Mites started the season on Saturday, October 12 against West Morris with a loss. Our scrappy team of 4-8 year-olds gave it a tough fight and came out with smiles and donuts in hand. They’re looking forward to next week.
Bantam Black
Our Bantam Black team finished out the first weekend of games with a win against Wayne on Sunday night, also at Mennen Arena.
The game started strong with two strong teams battling it out. Wayne kicked the game off with a goal in the first period, but the Warriors were quick to answer when two minutes later Daniel Gallant (Stirling) answered with an assist from Lucas Rohman (Bridgewater).
Just when it looked like the period would end in a 1-1 tie, Julian Joglekar (Warren) of the Warriors put in an unassisted goal with just two seconds left in the period, ending the first period with a 2-1 lead for the Warriors.
It wasn’t until the third period, when the Warriors were able to put in the fourth goal of the game with Gallant again off an assist from Blaze Perez (Stirling).
The Bantam Black team started off the season strong with a 3-1 win.
All our Warriors teams will be playing again next weekend. Congrats to all of our kids.
