Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Go 2-2-1 on the Weekend

The Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Bantam teams go 2-0 with wins against Wayne and Randolph.

Friday night, the Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Hockey Bantam Gold squeaked out their win against Randolph. In a tight back and forth game, Randolph scored the first goal against goalie Andrew Martin (Metuchen) and with only 53 seconds left in the first period Jack Ost, with an assist from Severyn Kohmak (Watchung) answered, ended the period in a 1-1 tie.

The second and third periods were an even back and forth with the Warriors putting in the final goal to finish the game 8-7 over Randolph.

Saturday started early for the Warriors Bantam Black team against Wayne. The game stayed even at 0-0 through the second period, but the Warriors came in strong in the third to score three unanswered goals by Daniel Adams (Bedminster), Brady Siefert (Warren), and the final goal again by Adams. Warriors win 3-0.

Sam Lopes (Millington) stands tough on defense.

PeeWees Outmatched

The Warriors PeeWees played Rockaway in what turned into a blowout and Warriors loss. Scoring just two goals, the Warriors were outmatched to Rockaway’s 7. Both Warriors goals were scored by Michael Kurtas (Basking Ridge) with assists from Michael Galiani (Warren).

Squirts Fall to West Morris

The Squirts played Sunday against West Morris and while the team came in strong, they couldn’t hold on to what started as a tight game and ended up losing 8-3. Warriors’ goals were scored by Patrick Linden (Gillette), Holden Flynn (Gillette), and Sam Friedman (Warren).
