Both the Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Hockey Bantam Black and Bantam Gold teams celebrated Friday night in strong wins that will take them to the finals in the MCYHL playoffs.
Bantam Gold
Bantam Gold secured their spot first in a game against Hanover. The game started slow with only one unassisted goal in the first period by Warriors Daniel Gallant (Stirling). Hanover waited until the second period to answer and while it looked to be a close game, Warriors leveled-up with two of their own goals in the second period, both by Alex Rozak (Warren) to take a 3-1 lead over Hanover. That didn’t slow the Warriors down who went on in the third to score three more goals two by Pete DaSilva (Greenbrook), and another by Gallant. Warriors Gold finished 6-1. They will play Randolph for the league championship Friday night at 9pm at Mennen Arena in Morristown.

Bantam Black
Bantam Black went 0-0 in the first period in what looked to be a tough match-up against Wayne. The Warriors however came on strong in the second period with goals by Jacob Fullman (Millington), and two by Arkin Navin (Watchung) to make it a 3-0 game, Warriors. Hanover came back in the third to score one goal, but were no match for the Warriors who scored four more in the third. Goals by Evzen Tormasi (Martinsville), Lucas Rowman (Bridgewater), another by Navin, and Julian Joglekar (Warren). The Warriors Bantam Black team will go on to play Rockaway Sunday morning at 7am.

Mites Dominate in Jamboree
The mites played in the MCYHL Mite Jamboree and dominated over teams from Beacon Hill, West Morris, Rockaway and Roxbury.
PeeWees and Squirts Fall
Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Hockey Peewee and Squirt teams both fell in the first round of playoffs. Peewees to Roxbury and Squirts to Denville. Both teams had strong developmental seasons and expect to come back strong in the 2020-2021 season.
