The Jr. Warriors Hockey Club was started to build a strong foundational hockey program for the Watchung Hills Regional High School Hockey Team, although we bring in players from all over including Metuchen, Flemington, Basking Ridge, and Westfield.
Current spots for Mites through Bantams are filling fast as we look to continue to grow and develop this championship-winning program.
Our young mites team had a spectacular year, growing from 6 to 12 players this season. Ages 4-7, this team grew into a powerhouse, finishing by winning all four of their games at the Twin Oaks Jamboree on Saturday.
We look forward to next season as this team continues to grow and develop.
It was a building season for the Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Squirts, with only two returning players at the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. That didn’t deter this rookie team. It was their hard work and enthusiasm that took them to Saturday’s championship game where they faced the Colts.
Although the Warriors lost with a final score of 8-2, they can hold their heads high for a great season.
The Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Squirts Hockey headed into Monday night’s playoff game against the Swamprats determined and confident. The mood in the Twin Oaks locker room was energetic and it showed when the team got on the ice.

The Warriors finished the game with an outstanding 2-1 win and head to the Twin Oaks League championship game on Saturday, March 16 at 10:15 AM against the Colts.
Congratulations to our Warriors for a great season. Our annual celebration banquet was a huge success. In addition to pizza and cupcakes, we enjoyed spending time with all of the players.
We thank all of the parents and coaches who have supported this group throughout the season and look forward to the 2019/2020 year.
Congratulations to our Bantam Warriors who defeated Rockaway to be named MCYHL league champions.
The Warriors came out scoring with a 4:17 shorthanded goal in the 1stperiod by Christian Cuccia. Rockaway quickly answered just one minute later, ending the first in a 1-1 tie with two shorthanded goals.
Severyn Khomyak took advantage of a power play in the 2ndperiod to score and take the Warriors to a 2-1 lead. This was quickly followed by another Cuccia goal ending the second period with a 3-1 Warriors lead.
Starting the third period strong, Cuccia scored the fourth Warriors goal just one minute into the period. Rockaway responded two minutes later making it a 4-2 game.
This final Warriors goal revved things up in what had been, up to this point, a solid lead by the Warriors. Fired up, Rockaway scored three unanswered goals to tie the game at 5-5 with only 5 minutes left in the game. At 4:25, Cuccia came in strong to score the winning goal for the Warriors. With a final score of 6-5, the Watchung Hills Jr. Warriors Hockey Club took home another Bantam championship trophy.
Practice is canceled February 20 for snow and freezing rain. Stay home, stay safe and watch some hockey!
